Fantastic bird of prey gift experience that entitles you to spend half a day with some of the most magnificent creatures on the planet!This half day experience gives you the opportunity to share in this traditional sport, refined over centuries and passed down from many falconers. Learn the knowledge and skills of how to interact with these magnificent birds of prey up close before learning how to fly them to the fist.These birds are not trained to do tricks they simply mimic what comes naturally to them. All the birds on show will display their natural instincts to soar, quarter, pounce and mantle.LocationKent, Essex, West Sussex, Bedfordshire (South East), Cornwall (South West) West Midlands, Derbyshire, Cheshire (North) Fife, Perthshire, Lanarkshire (Scotland)AvailabilityYour voucher is valid for 10 months.RequirementsThe minimum age for this experience may differ from venue to venue but will range between 10 and 16 years of age.All equipment will be provided for your experience, but it is advisable to bring a pair of wellington boots with you and wear suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year.Please NoteThe species of bird flown will be dependent on the time of year. The number of other participants on the day will vary depending on the venue. The venue in Perthshire does not include a tour of the Centre you will instead be met by the falconer at a rendezvous point and then taken to see the Birds in their natural surroundings. The venue in Kent does not offer a tour but you are free to wander around the centre and see the birds of prey on display. Spectators for the North Yorkshire venue are subject to a £35 spectators fee.The Cornwall venue allows a maximum of one spectator on this half day experience. Dogs are not permitted on site at some locations.ProgrammeYour experience starts with an informative tour of the centre where you will see the variety of birds of prey close up and learn all about their different characteristics, speed capabilities and hunting habits. After that, you will have the chance to fly some of them to the fist under the watchful eye of the trainer.Finally there will be plenty of photo opportunities to capture a truly unforgettable experience.
